Back again I know, I know - this site havent been updated that much this month but that is mainly caused by my summerwork. I work this summer as a developer and got my product into official beta mode last tuesday = have been very busy during daytime and to tired to update this site during evenings ;-) But dont worry - it seems like the rest of the DVD world too have been busy / tired / on vacations because there havent been any updates on the tools side either :P I do now have a full copy of Remote Selector 1.75 and will put it up in the TOOLS section as soon I get a valid username/serial for the program (if you use the old 1.74 keygen on 1.75, the program will let you know that it doesnt work ;-)

Big warning Many people are using banners at their sites - I have now learnt that some of them are just fake. One of the fake bannerhosts (which you shouldnt cooperate with) is a company called Dimeclicks. Suddently they canceled my account and after more then 4 weeks I still havent got any check from them. I have sent several emails to them about this but they doesnt reply. So my only conclusion from this is to always verify with friends if a bannerhost is fake or not. One bannerhost that isnt a fake is TradeDoubler. Unfortently they only work for people living in Europe, but they are growing and at their mainsite you can see in what countries they operate. I really recommend them since I got the money and they do reply to emails sent to them.

Search function I have now added a simple search function to the TOOLS section so it will be easier for you to find what you are looking for. After you have entered your search object (string) and clicked on "Search" you will be moved to the hit if it was found, and by hitting <Enter> you will be moved to next hit (if there is any). Simple and fun :-)

Finally in sync I have finally managed to get this site in sync with the rest of the world. It has been a busy week with lots of programming and problems (last problem was a stupid operatingsystem named "Linux". Well actually its nice exept for one point WHY CANT IT TELL WHEN A DRIVE IS COMPLETELY DAMAGED ??!! I put down a whole day on installing, reinstalling, partitioning and formatting before I got the idea to try the drive (the system had two scsi drives) under a NT installation. And imagine what happen ? Yup - NT told me directly that the drive was damaged where Linux didnt even give me a single beep. However I have solved that now and the webcache server (using squid) is working perfectly :-)

This with a "small" combination of lazyness from my side has put this site into some type of "idle priority". But dont worry, I will get this site in sync with the rest of the world on friday or during the upcoming weekend. So stay tuned ;-)

.NFO I have recently got many emails and questions about how to install the tools that you can find in the TOOLS section. Here is my answer to that: After you have extracted the rar package you have several files, one of them has an extension of .nfo. nfo means "info" - in otherwords always read those files cos they contains importent information regarding installations and use of the programs.

DVD Genie 3.75 Directly from the whatsnew.txt: With the help of a Genie user by the name of "Dan Jackson", I was able to write code that recreates the Windows 98 Special Edition internal region code. It also resets it's region counter back to 1 change remaining. So you can reset the region as many times as required, Furthermore, Direct support for changing the Windows 98 Second/Millennium Edition region code has been enabled. This makes playback using players that rely on the internal windows code much easier to accomplish, New option to automatically set the Windows 98 SE / ME region code on the "Auto Region" panel, Fixed the windows DVD-Run-on-insert feature so that it will not give that odd message under Windows Millennium Edition when inserting a disc and no program is selected to auto-run, MGI SoftDVD MAX region-reset feature has been confirmed to work with the latest version (v3.6.0002 with Dolby Headphone support). This will only work in combination of the Windows internal region code, the Windows code must be set, and the SoftDVD code must be reset, then it'll work like a charm, Will now detect Windows 2000 region keys, thanks to all the people who've sent me sample keys so I can implement this feature, Can now export and erase the Windows 2000 region key, Removed the ability to edit the region key within DVD Genie. This feature was not really practical due to the changes Microsoft did to the design of the key since it's original inception in Windows 98, The DVD Genie configuration entries have been moved to HKEY_CURRENT_USER for Windows 2000 compatibility, Some of the more important pop-up messages can now be translated.

VobDec GUI 2.3 Added a Progress Bar for Full Decryption Process, Added Info. for Full Decryption Process, All DOS Windows are Hideen Now, Removed CD/DVD Image Button, Removed Ansi.com.

Further updates I have fixed the forum so when someone emails a user in the forum the user will be notified that the email comes from my site (since I got some complains from people who didnt know why they suddently got "unknown" emails). I will also during this week try to expand the TOOLS section with some new goodies and while I do that fix the download links so it will be easier to find what you are looking for. I also saw that Gej and the people around DivX ;-) will soon present a new "amazing" thing - now that sounds interresting so stay tuned...

VobDec GUI 2.1 A few changes and bug corrections have been made...

FlaskMpeg DeCSS 0.593 Added this requested tool to the TOOLS section. With this version you can backup a dvd directly into mpg or avi, in other words you dont need 4 extra gig of free hd space. On the other hand this will make your dvdrom player to spin for about 10 hours on each backup (since it reads the vob directly from the dvd disc itself). Which in theory could damage your player much faster then if you dont use this method (a player is operational for about 20,000 hours or somethin :P). But as I said, good for people who doesnt have the 4 extra gig of free hd space that you otherwise need. A bit of give and take ;-)

VirtualDub AC3 Added this requested tool to the TOOLS section. With this version you can create avi files that contains ac3 audio, good for all the people who uses surround sound ;-)

Ac3dec 0.8.18 0.8.18 is done now, a few goodies here, you can save / load codec settings, the -44100 option is fixed and also its now a higher quality when downsampling. Also I have 'taken' the improvements of the official acedec0.6.x on the linux side and put them (some) into this build, it should be faster and give better quality. Also this should handle some ac3 files which otherwise would make it crash.

CladDVD 1.43 update Some new stuff in this release: Added 'Skip ALL' option, Tieded up some internal code, Changed 'Key Scan' box, now on Main Window, VOB file 'Key Scan' color change to inform on which title, key was obtained, 'Multi Angle' option now enabled as default.

Windows 2000 testing is becoming a problem, it takes too much time to keep changing operating systems to test. cladDVD will work in 2000 though the 'Skip VOB' and 'Skip ALL' option CANNOT force the DOS Application (vobdec) to shut down. Don't use the 'Skip VOB' option. You can use the 'Skip ALL' option though and it will halt cladDVD from doing anything else but 'vobdec' will still be running until it's finished the current file it's on. Remember, the above is refering to Windows 2000.

To upgrade your release just place the update over your existing 'claddvd.exe' (default path - C:\Program Files\cladDVD 1.4\claddvd.exe) MUST HAVE v1.41 INSTALLED!
